Description

Large fractions of electrocorundum are mainly used for rough sandblasting of metals. Such grinding is used to clean and roughen the surface of steel, copper, iron, etc. Provided there is recovery in the sandblasting plant, corundum shows significantly better results than slag or sand.

Also, fractions F12, F14 and F16 are widely used for the production of dry mixtures. For example, corundum topping. Such a dry mixture is used to harden the top layer of concrete. Electrocorundum is the main component of such products.

Main features:

  • Density: 3.85-3.95 g/cm3;
  • Microhardness: 1250 kgf/mm2-2000 kgf/mm2;
  • Mechanical hardness: 8,6-19,9 N;
  • Melting point: from 1650°C.
The primary corundum of large grains differs from the recovered one in that its particles are whole. Regenerated electrocorundum is produced by crushing abrasive wheels. At the output, large fractions are obtained glued together from smaller pieces. Naturally, such an abrasive is less durable.
