Description
Brown fused alumina F36-F54 is a superhard material containing 70% aluminum oxide Al2O3 at max. It is used as an abrasive in sandblasting, for the manufacture of abrasive tools.
Brown fused alumina is produced by the method of restorative treatment of bauxite. It contains 70% aluminum oxide and 30% impurities (iron, chromium, silicon oxides, etc.).
Main features:
Density: 3.85-3.95 g/cm3;
Microhardness: 1250 kgf/mm2-2000 kgf/mm2;
Mechanical hardness: 8,6-19,9 N;
Melting point: from 1650°C.
The granularity of the fraction of electrocorundum F36 according to the FEPA standard corresponds to the grain size from 420 to 850 microns.
F40 – 0,30-0,70
F46 – 0,30-0,60
F54 – 0,20-0,50
Fused alumina is a refractory wear-resistant material that is most often used for abrasive processing (grinding, polishing, cleaning from dirt, rust, paintwork) of metals, wood, leather, matting glass, sandblasting granite. It can be used as an abrasive in sandblasting (withstands up to 20 cycles) or in the form of abrasive wheels, sandpaper.
