Description
Features of brown fused alimina F60, F70, F80, F90
Brown fused alimina is a superhard material that is used as an abrasive for sandblasting surfaces or making grinding wheels, bars, discs, sandpaper. It is made by electric arc melting of bauxite with the addition of carbon reducing agent and iron chips. Brown fused alimina contains 70% aluminum oxide at max. The increased content of Al2O3 provided increased strength and hardness.
The main features of the material:
melting point: 1650°C;
microhardness: 1250 kgf/mm2-2000 kgf/mm2;
mechanical hardness: 8,6-19,9 N.
The the F60-F90 grain brown fused alumina contain abrasive grains ranging in size from 180 to 355 microns.
Brown fused alumina F60-F70 grain is most often used for cleaning, finishing, pre-finishing grinding of wood products, alloyed, carbon steels, leather, glass matting.
It can also be used in powder metallurgy, added to the composition of ceramic insulators of radio-electronic lamps.
